February Brand of the Month

I cannot believe it is February already! One of our dogs recently completed his third training course. We are slowly but surely moving up in the obedience ranks! My other small business, Mile High Paws, had its first successful event of 2026, and I am gearing up for another one this weekend! I have my first essay due in a week, and I get to board two of my regulars for the weekend!

The brand of the month is Open Farm. We feed Teddy and Apollo Open Farm kibble. When Bart transitions from puppy to adult food, he will also eat Open Farm kibble! Right now, Teddy is eating their Venison & Ancient Grains kibble. We rotate his flavors every bag. Apollo is on their veterinary-formulated Healthy Weight formula, as he has a few pounds to shed.

Do Some Good

One aspect we love about Open Farm is their commitment to sustainable practices and animal welfare. All protein used in Open Farm products is ethically sourced. Cattle are humanely raised, and fish are wild-caught. You won’t find any antibiotics or added hormones in Open Farm’s proteins. Cattle are fed a nutritious diet, and all protein sources are 3rd party certified for their animal welfare standards via either the Global Animal Partnership (GAP) or Certified Humane.

The Extra Mile

Have you ever scanned the QR code on any Open Farm product? I encourage you to do so the next time you visit your local pet boutique!

Open Farm provides complete transparency on:

  • The geographic origin of a product’s ingredients

  • An overview of an ingredient’s benefits

  • The safety test results for each product

  • 3rd party ingredient certification

  • The carbon emissions of said product

How cool is that?!

With dry food, fresh food, freeze-dried, bone broth, and supplements — you can build your dog a complete bowl top to bottom using only Open Farm products, and that is why they are our Brand of the Month and the highlight of our very first blog post!
